§ 14-172. Vacation leave.

  • Employees are entitled to paid time off for vacation each year. Vacation leave is paid according to hours accumulated per pay period. Part-time employee's hours of paid leave are prorated. After thirteen (13) months full time employees earn one (1) week or forty (40) hours of vacation time per year. After the fifth year of employment, regular full-time employees earn two (2) weeks or eighty (80) hours of vacation time per year. After the tenth year, vacation leave is increased to three (3) weeks per year or one hundred twenty (120) hours of vacation time per year. After fifteen (15) years of employment, the employee earns four (4) weeks or one hundred sixty (160) hours of vacation leave per year.

    Vacation leave must be taken during the twelve (12) months following the employee's anniversary date. Vacation benefits cannot be cumulative from year to year.
