§ 14-171. Holidays.

  • The town pays a certain number of holidays each year, by policy. Holidays normally consist of New Year's Day; Martin Luther King Day; Mardi Gras; Good Friday; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving Day; and two (2) days at Christmas.

    Certain positions must work on the holidays. For positions requiring holiday hours, an alternate day can be taken during the pay period. If that is not feasible, the alternate day may be taken during the next two-week pay period, with the permission of the manager.
