§ 2-5. Legal holidays.

(a)

The following shall be observed by the municipality as days of public rest and legal holidays:

(1)

Sundays;

(2)

Saturdays (all day);

(3)

Mardi Gras;

(4)

Good Friday;

(5)

Memorial Day;

(6)

Independence Day;

(7)

Labor Day;

(8)

Thanksgiving Day;

(9)

Christmas Day; and

(10)

New Year's Day.

(b)

The mayor may, by proclamation, authorize the observance of other holidays and half holidays as such official may deem in keeping with efficient administration.
