§ 13-53. Requirements and restrictions.

  • (a)

    All mobile food vendor units must be parked on and conduct business on private property.

    (b)

    No mobile food vendors may conduct business during special events approved by the mayor and board of aldermen, including without limitation to the following special events:

    (1)

    Annual Audubon Pilgrimage.

    (2)

    Yellow Leaf Festival.

    (3)

    Christmas in the Country.

    (4)

    Homecoming Parade.

    (5)

    The Day the War Stopped.

    (6)

    Polo and Pearls.

    (c)

    Display of permit: The mobile food vendor permit shall be displayed at all times in a conspicuous place where it can be read by the general public on the mobile food vending unit.

    (d)

    Compliance with other laws, regulations, and ordinances: All mobile food vendors shall comply with all state laws, all state and local regulations pertaining to health and fire safety, and with all town ordinances, including, without limitation to, the town's planning and zoning ordinance, the ordinance regulating signage, and the ordinances regulating peddlers and solicitations.

    (e)

    Handbills and solicitations: No mobile food vendors shall distribute any commercial handbills in the Town of St. Francisville, nor shall they conduct any door-to-door solicitations.

    (f)

    Home occupations: No mobile food vendor's business shall be considered a home occupation.

    (g)

    No mobile food vending unit, while out-of-service, shall be parked in any residential subdivisions or in any areas of the town having a residential zoning designation.

    (h)

    Noise prohibited: Continuous music or repetitive sounds shall not project from the mobile food vending unit or any appurtenances thereto.

    (i)

    Flashing lights: No mobile food vending unit shall display any bright flashing lights, blue, red, or amber in color.
