§ 13-33. Camper-trailer or recreational vehicle park permit—Required; regulations.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to open or operate a camper-trailer and recreational vehicle park as defined herein unless the person first shall obtain an occupancy permit for such from the building inspector, who shall issue a permit only after the following conditions have been complied with:

    (1)

    The health, sanitation, and safety regulations and all other applicable code provisions and ordinances of the municipality and the laws of the state strictly are complied with.

    (2)

    The park site is located in a C-2 or C-3 zone or a special trailer zone according to the zoning ordinance.

    (3)

    No camper-trailer or recreational vehicle shall be located within thirty (30) feet of a public road or street at any point.

    (4)

    The park site contains one (1) central location for garbage collection, which location shall be accessible to garbage and trash trucks.

    (5)

    No camper-trailer or recreational vehicle shall be located within five (5) feet of any property lines.

    (6)

    A fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) shall be paid upon issuance of the permit. The permit shall be for a one-year period.

    (b)

    No individual camper-trailer or recreational vehicle shall be provided space within the park for more than seven (7) consecutive days, or for more than ten (10) days in any one (1) month, or for more than thirty (30) days in any one (1) year.

    (c)

    No person shall be allowed to make residence in the park, and no person shall stay or be provided services or space in the park for more than seven (7) consecutive days or for more than ten (10) days in any one (1) month, or for more than thirty (30) days in any one (1) year. This provision shall not apply to any person employed on a full-time basis in managing or operating the park, except that such person shall not make residence in a camper-trailer or recreational vehicle.

    (d)

    The park shall be used for the rental or spaces only except as provided in subsection (c) above. The rental from the park site of camper-trailers or recreational vehicles to be used on or off the park site is prohibited. The park site shall not be used for the sale, storage, or repair of camper-trailers or recreational vehicles.
