§ 2-41. Uniforms.

  • (a)

    Every police officer shall wear at all times while on duty a uniform of the type and quality recommended by the chief of police and prescribed by the mayor and board of aldermen.

    (b)

    The contents hereinabove notwithstanding, the chief of police may specifically authorize any police officer or officers to perform duties out of uniform when the nature of the duty so requires and is in the best interests of the safety and good order of the municipality.
