§ 1-14. Description of corporate limits.

  • The corporate limits of the Town of St. Francisville, Louisiana, are as follows:

    Commencing at the intersection of the center line of Gasper's Creek with the southern right-of-way of LA Hwy. No. 3057 (formerly U.S. Hwy. No. 61 as located in 1958 and known also as Commerce Street); thence South 60 degrees W, to the eastern right-of-way line of Pecan Grove Drive; thence along the eastern right-of-way line of Pecan Grove Drive on a bearing of South 24 degrees 30 minutes W a distance of 969 feet to a point; thence South 31 degrees 30 minutes W to the southern right-of-way of the old Y. & M.V.R.R.; thence along said southern right-of-way line of the old Y. & M.V.R.R. to its intersection with Fountain Bayou; thence upstream along Fountain Bayou and following the meanderings thereof to its intersection with North Street opposite Lot 9 of Square 13; thence northerly along North Street to its intersection again with Fountain Bayou at Baton Rouge Street; thence northerly along Fountain Bayou to an iron axle; thence North 68 degrees 43 minutes E to an iron pipe situated 560 feet west of the centerline of LA Hwy. No. 3057 (formerly U.S. Hwy. No. 61 as located in 1958, and known also as Commerce Street); thence North 6 degrees 15 minutes W 590 feet to an iron pipe; thence North 46 degrees 22 minutes W 219.5 feet to an iron pipe; thence North 48 degrees 49 minutes W 1089 feet to an iron pipe; thence North 15 degrees W 1846.4 feet to an iron pipe; thence in a generally northerly and northwesterly direction at a distance of 270 feet west of and parallel to the east right-of-way line of LA Hwy. No. 3057 (formerly U.S. Hwy. No. 61 as located in 1958, and known also as Commerce Street), to the southern boundary line of Villa Rose Subdivision; thence North 82 degrees 29 minutes W, a distance of 1379.66 feet along the southern boundary line of Villa Rose Subdivision to a ¾-inch iron pipe set in concrete at the southwest corner of the subdivision; thence North 5 degrees 34 minutes E a distance of 643.74 feet along the western boundary line of Villa Rose Subdivision to a 1½-inch pipe at the northwest corner of the subdivision; thence in a generally northerly and northwesterly direction along the east right-of-way line of the parish road known as the "Parker Stock Farm Road", to its intersection with the southern right-of-way line of the Hardwood spur of the Y. & M.V.R.R. (which spur forms the northern boundary of the property of Paul A. Lambert); thence along the southern right-of-way line of said spur to its intersection with the eastern right-of-way line of U.S. Hwy. 61; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern right-of-way line of U.S. Hwy. No. 61 to the southern right-of-way of Street "D", thence South 89 degrees 54 minutes E a distance of 724.84 feet to a point; thence South 13 degrees 54 minutes E to its intersection with the centerline of Gasper's Creek (which is adjacent to the property of Russell Daniel, et al. formerly known as the "Brasseaux" Tract); thence in an easterly and southeasterly direction along the center line of Gasper's Creek to its intersection with the northern right-of-way line of LA Hwy. No. 10 (formerly LA Hwy. No. 35); thence in an easterly direction along the northern right-of-way line of LA Hwy. No. 10 to the centerline of Alexander's Creek; thence in a southerly and southeasterly direction along the center line of Alexander's Creek to its intersection with the western right-of-way line of LA Hwy. No. 3057 (formerly U.S. Hwy. No. 61 as located in 1958 and known also as Commerce Street); thence in a southwesterly and westerly direction along the western and southern right-of-way line of LA Hwy. No. 3057 (formerly U.S. Hwy. No. 61 as located in 1958 and known also as Commerce Street) to the centerline of Gasper's Creek, being the point of beginning.
