§ 13-41. Itinerant vendor license required.

  • It shall be unlawful for any itinerant vendor to sell, offer for sale, exhibit for sale or exhibit for the purpose of taking orders for the sale thereof, any goods, merchandise, or service, including photographs and portraits, in the municipality, without first obtaining a license to do so; provided, however, that this section shall not be held to be applicable to the ordinary commercial traveler who sells or exhibits for sale goods, merchandise, or services to parties engaged in the business of buying and selling and dealing in such goods, merchandise, or services; or to the sale of goods, merchandise, or services donated by the owners thereof, the proceeds of which are applied to any charitable or philanthropic purpose.
